Our friend @jackassletters recorded a video recently wherein he wore a Twitter Fail Bird t-shirt while shaving off his thick and manly beard. That’s probably a redundant statement, because aren’t all beards manly? Okay, perhaps not when worn by women, so we’re sorry we came to that conclusion so quickly. (Hi Marcia!)

Being the creative and generous type, he concocted a video remixing contest. All the contestants had to do was remix the video (hopefully making it really funny in the process) post it online, and let the world know it was there. Complete rules here, along with the original video

Within a matter of a few days, weeks, minutes he was overwhelmed by all the (one) entries, and so, at the end of the contest, declared a winner. (Read the @jackassletters announcement here.) The winner @slakingfool got to choose his prize. He did not choose the Fail Bird T-Shirt. Please pretend that you’re surprised to hear that. We’re pretty fragile these days.

We’re guessing everyone was too busy playing in the sun, getting a tattoo, and drinking way too much beer* protesting health care reform to be able to spare the time to focus on such an important project, and not because we suck. We do suck, but that’s probably not the main deciding factor.

So, anyhoo, check out the winning entry. It’s pretty good.

Bet you wish now that you had entered. You know what? It’s not too late. Make a remix and send it to us. Or send us another video with the Fail Bird in it somewhere. If it sucks less than we do, and it’s anything but porn, we’ll probably put it online and send you a T-Shirt. Please. We can’t take any more rejection.

Update: @jackassletters just told us @slakingfool hasn’t selected his prize yet. There’s still a chance he has poor taste in clothing and low enough self-esteem to choose the t-shirt. We’ll let you know if that happens.
